The Gili Islands sit just north-west of Bali and are made up of three small islands; Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air.

Each island stands apart from the last, boasting their own characteristics and landscapes, which, when combined, make a fantastic island hopping holiday. Gili Trawangan offers both quiet and peaceful coastlines, as well as bustling nightlife and fantastic restaurants. Gili Meno offers the most seclusion and exclusivity, boasting untouched beaches and discreet coves, while Gili Air is almost like a smaller version of Gili Trawangan!

Although each island benefits from distinctive differences, they all boast picture-perfect beaches and tropical interiors that make all of them fantastic places to visit, no matter what type of traveller you are. Honeymooners will absolutely adore Gili Meno’s secluded shorelinesand luxury boutique hotels, while couples and families will love exploring Gili Trawangan’s leafy jungles and relaxing along the lively golden sands of its popular and picturesque beachfronts.

Bali's glittering turquoise waters and sugar-white, sandy beaches make for an irresistible holiday destination, particularly for those looking to escape reality and enter the realms of their dreams. It really is a paradise straight from the pages of a glossy magazine!

  • For a dreamy 12 day Bali itinerary we recommend spending four days exploring the wondrous hills of Ubud with their luscious emerald rice terraces and cascading waterfalls, a truly dreamy image. Discover hidden temples within the forests and visit provincial villages to see how the locals live and absorb the culture of this fertile city.
  • When you've had all the fresh forest air that you can handle, head to the golden coasts of Seminyak, Uluwatu and Nusa Dua for four days of surfing and water adventures. Indulge in a shopping spree in Seminyak's exclusive boutiques and bring home unique trinkets, and chill on the exclusive beaches at the foot of Uluwatu's  cliffs to soak up the sun's rays and work on that tan. Water Blow lookout is a must visit in Nusa Dua for panoramic views of the Indian Ocean as it sparkles in the Bali sunlight - this photogenic rock is a romantic and dynamic location, with its crashing waves and secluded atmosphere.
  • Spend your final four days hopping between the dazzling Gili Islands and Lombok, snapping plenty of pictures to create some Instagram envy! The Gili Islands are the perfect place for an island hopping experience, and offer a fantastic blend of tranquil beaches and buzzing nightlife. Lombok is a tropical haven, discover the adorable monkeys in the Pusak Monkey Forest and stroll on pristine white sands.

The Gili Islands
Water Swings

Take in the absolutely mesmerising Indonesian sunset and snap the gold medal of Instagram photos at one of Gili Trawangan’s iconic overwater swings.

The three Gili islands are easily accessible from Lombok in Indonesia and each have their own unique flair, with Gili Trawangan recently becoming a social media sensation with its beautiful overwater swings that seem to float enchantingly above the shallow sea waters. After snapping a beautiful shot of you swinging dreamily against the blush pink sunset, be sure to stay for incredible Indonesian food and exciting nightlife.

Watching The Sunset

The sunsets in Gili are some of the most spectacular in the world; think burnt orange and deep red hues filling the sky before it turns into a blanket of stars.

There are so many ways to admire the sunsets in Gili, whether it's with a private romantic picnic along the soft white sands, clinking glasses on a sunset cruise as it drifts dreamily along the waters, or with your feet in the sand among friends as you all enjoy an Indonesian banquet. There's no shortage of unforgettable memories to be had in Gili.

Shopping in Gili Trawangan

You won’t find outlet shopping malls and plazas in the idyllic Gili Islands, but you’ll find plenty of boutiques and shops selling locally-made designs, clothing and handicrafts.

Head to the southern beachfront of Gili Trawangan and you’ll discover Casa Vintage, a quirky Bohemian-chic collection of shops that sell vintage bicycles, art, clothing and more. Many of the items are sourced locally and from across the world, ensuring there’s a wide selection of hip and fashionable wares to choose from. If it’s souvenirs you’re after, you’ll discover plenty of open-air stalls selling all manner of handicrafts, jewellery, and more along the whole length of the main beachfront.

Gili’s sands are known and loved by all who visit Indonesia and for good reason, it’s never been easier to soak up the sun in such a beautiful destination and feel safe in the knowledge that there’s some excellent restaurants and bars mere footsteps away.

These stunning beaches are also perfectly suited for surfing, snorkelling and even diving with plenty of reefs dwelling beneath the dazzling topaz waters. Whether you prefer to focus on that all-important tan or can’t wait to get onto the waters and start making some waves, Gili offers the perfect beach backdrop for every adventure.
