Things to do in
The Beaches of the Riviera Maya

Cancun’s coveted beaches are universally loved by families, honeymooners and couples alike, and the Riviera Maya showcases the best of the best.

If you dream of powdery white sands, bright turquoise warm waters and swaying palms, then you may be dreaming of the Riviera Maya. This stunning, upscale coastal region of Mexico boasts endless beaches and plenty of luxurious ocean-facing resorts to choose from. Spend your days soaking up the sun on the white sands, slicing across the waters on kayaks, or snorkelling into the colourful reefs that dwell below.

Xcaret Park

Located along the dreamy Riviera Maya coast is a hidden gem of amusement and exhilaration. A trip to the legendary Xcaret Park cannot be passed up when visiting the beautiful coasts of Mexico.

Described as the pride of Mexico, this attraction is a natural eco-archaeological sanctuary, and is home to an eclectic mix of stunning land animals and techni-coloured marine life. Combining aquatic adventures and animal exhibitions with traditional Mayan culture, Xcaret Park promises guests an unforgettable and unique day of entertainment and thrill. Boasting over 50 attractions, we're sure that there is something for everyone here.

Xel-Há Park

Similar to Xcaret, this dazzling amusement park is situated on the spectacular Riviera Maya and offers an abundance of exhilarating activities to thrill honeymooners and family holiday-makers alike.

Grab your family, your friends or your loved one, and get down to Mexico's most exciting attraction. Brimming with activities, from swimming with dolphins to zip-lining, exploring underground rivers and caves, cliff jumping, snorkelling, relaxing in the Bay of Caprices, or even venturing through jungle trails and Chacah's gardens, you won't have a single moment of boredom while visiting this exciting wonderland.

The Quiet Beaches and Mayan Ruins of Tulum

Visit Tulum and you’ll get a chance to experience Mexico as it should be; wander along powdery secluded beaches, taste truly authentic local cuisines and be amazed by dramatically situated ancient Mayan ruins.

Your trip to Mexico will never be complete without a visit to Tulum. Head to one of the many quiet beaches and you’ll be blessed with pristine white sands, emerald warm waters and plenty of hidden caverns and caves to explore. Explore further inland and you’ll discover incredible Mayan ruins that truly transport you back in time.

Frida Kahlo Tour of Mexico City

Mexico City is easily one of the most underrated cities in the world, and you could spend days exploring the myriad of sights, restaurants, bars and beauty that dwell above this concrete jungle, but it’d be a shame to visit without viewing Frida Kahlo’s astounding works of art.

A private tour of her incredible work will see you going to not only the city’s most prestigious galleries, but also to her house and slightly awkwardly, her lover’s mistress’s house too. Seeing her artwork in Mexico where she was born, influenced and shaped as person offers so much more perspective than a flick through a coffee table book.

Try the Tequila

They don’t have it with salt and lime in Mexico, because the flavour is so much more pronounced and nowhere near as undesirable as our supermarket’s offerings; the tequila here is simply incredible.

The origins remain slightly hazy but the name Tequila actually comes from a town near the birthplace of the drink, as opposed to the birthplace itself. History aside, the way Tequila is brewed in Mexico results in an incredible and unmissable drink that must be tasted when you visit. After a sampling session, you’ll never want to go back to the salt and lime again.

Day of the Dead

Just the mere mention of the word ‘Mexico’ bring to mind images of faces painted into sugar skulls and colourful flowers, but the Day of the Dead is so much more than that.

Head to Oaxaca City (the birthplace of the festival) and you’ll notice that the festivities start amping up about a week before the 2nd November. Some choose to remember those who have passed in the comfort of their own homes, while others take to the streets and become part of an incredible festival that celebrates life and the living; definitely bring your camera!

Mexican Food

Taste Mexico’s authentic dishes in their country of origin, and you’ll wonder whether you’ve even tried real Mexican food before.

Where to start? It’s impossible to say because there are so many incredible dishes to try, but we’ve narrowed it down to few of our favourites. Chilaquiles is a delicious dish consisting of corn tortillas smothered in a mouth-watering mixture of delicious toppings, Huevos Divorciados - or Divorced Eggs - is a fried egg dish consisting of two starkly contrasting salsas, and Birria is a delicious meat stew that’s perfect for a filling evening meal.
