From our expert

  • Princesse Bora Lodge & Spa sits along the sands of Sainte-Marie Island, just east of Madagascar.
  • This exclusive eco-conscious hideaway boasts powdery white sands; perfect for honeymooners.
  • We love the Executive Beach Villa which features a gorgeous stone-cast sunken bathtub.
  • Malagasy and Creole flavours come together at the sublime Beach Grill Restaurant.
  • This resort also houses a bar, its own well-stocked wine cellar and an on-site vegetable garden.
  • Enjoy both in-land and water sports including mountain biking, snorkelling and whale watching.
  • We recommend twinning Madagascar with a trip to Tanzania for a safari and beach holiday.

Best Time To Travel

As a general rule, the best time to visit Madagascar falls within April and December as the weather is consistently excellent. July to September is the peak period and is perfect for viewing humpback whales, while September to December avoids peak season and is perfect for soaking up the sun due to hot and relatively dry weather.
