After enjoying breakfast you will take a short journey from Habarana to the Cultural Triangle, where you will visit the archeological ruins of Polonnaruwa. This ancient city is the medieval Sri Lanka's capital and crown jewel of King Parakramabahu I.
Once you are done exploring the ancient ruins of Polonnaruwa you will proceed onto Minneriya, where you can join a safari at the Minneriya National Park. Spread out over 8800 hectares of land, this sanctuary is especially for elephants. Park your jeep on the bank of the reservoir and switch off its engine. Watch carefully as herds of elephants, one by one, roll on to the grass-covered banks to feed on tender shoots; this is the largest elephant gathering in the world with over 300 at a time.

In the morning you will be transferred from Nuwara Eliva to Yala before checking into your hotel. Visit the Zwart Bastion, the oldest lighthouse standing 18 feet tall in all its glory. Explore the surrounding grid-like streets before doing a spot of shopping in the nearby Dutch Hospital Shopping Complex.
After a jam-packed, fun-filled week, use these days to unwind and soak up the Sri Lankan sunshine on the most beautiful beach in Tangalle.
