I loved every moment in this luxury St. Lucia resort and know that you will too!
After a scenic and seemingly short drive along stunning coasts and through lush forestry, we arrived at what looked like something out of our wildest dreams. Nestled amongst tropical gentle swaying palms stood the Anse Chastanet, and just the exterior alone made me realise that we’d definitely chosen the best Caribbean island to visit; we couldn't wait for our St Lucia holiday to begin. Upon arrival we were greeted by warm and smiling staff, making us immediately feel both at home and at ease. We were then escorted through the opulent resort and were stunned all over again when we saw our suite.
The plush comfort of the king-sized bed was tantalising, but what caught my eye was the emerald shades winking at me from beyond the balcony. I stepped out and was faced with a view that I can only describe as breath-taking: our very own private infinity pool set amongst the extraordinary verdant forests, offering an uninterrupted and awe-inspiring view of the Pitons in the distance. Also waiting for us on the balcony was a chilled bottle of champagne and a selection of tropical fruits, a perfect afternoon refreshment, so we clinked glasses as we admired the dreamy view. Anybody looking for the perfect all-inclusive honeymoon in St. Lucia will certainly find it at the Anse Chastanet.
We opted to spend our second day exploring the resort’s exclusive beaches. Descending the steps, our toes were soon covered by the warm powder-soft sands of the Anse Chastanet beach. We decided to unwind in the plush comfort of one of the beach lounge beds for a morning of sun, sea and serenity, and we were not disappointed. Around lunch time we were able to order delicious food and cocktails, all brought to us by friendly staff so that we didn’t have to move a muscle.
After a relaxing morning, we decided to venture out to the shimmering topaz-hued waters, opting for an adventurous afternoon of snorkelling. The hotel is ideally located in St. Lucia’s marine reserve, meaning that whether you snorkel or scuba dive, you’re guaranteed spectacular underwater vistas. Turtles, dolphins and a myriad of rainbow coloured fish all call the calm waters of the Caribbean home, and you could see them all with your own eyes. Anybody wondering what the best things to do in St. Lucia are – snorkelling should be near the top of the list!
Of course, being on the luxury St. Lucia holiday of a lifetime meant that we had no choice but to spend a day indulging in a range of sumptuous spa treatments. That’s totally the rule, right?
I chose the “ultimate ‘Forget the Outside World’ treatment”, and I’ll be perfectly honest, I wasn’t even sure that I was still on Earth by the time it was over! It was so divine and so peaceful that I was convinced that I had left my body and journeyed to some kind of heavenly realm. For the best Caribbean honeymoon on offer, I cannot recommend the Anse Chastanet enough, or their stress-shattering spa.
It goes without saying, but food in the Caribbean is like a Tom Hanks movie: you know it’s going to be good! The exquisite cuisine on offer at the Anse Chastanet was certainly no exception. With everything you could ever want, from award-winning open-air tree houses serving authentic Caribbean cuisine, to casual beachside bars and grills, the selection of food is seemingly endless.
For a more intimate dining experience, however, it doesn’t get any better than spending the evening on the fine white sands, watching the sun set over the horizon with your loved one. My partner and I enjoyed this on our final night in paradise: we were treated to an exquisite five-course meal, delicious accompanying wines and a spectacular orange and pink sunset sky. As we relaxed in the warm candlelight, I knew that this would be the perfect romantic evening for a dream luxury honeymoon in St. Lucia.
For the best Caribbean holiday possible, honeymooners, families and couples alike should visit St. Lucia. Enjoy an all-inclusive honeymoon in heaven, bring the kids along for the family holiday of a lifetime, or escape reality with your loved one on the most stunning couples’ holidays imaginable; you’ll find no shortage of wondrous beauty on these golden shores. Visit between December and April to experience the best sunshine that this stunning island destination has to offer.
