Imagine yourself gliding over the Andaman Sea on a private speedboat as you approach a lush green island, bordered by beautifully unspoilt beaches and a turquoise shoreline – welcome to The Naka Island.
An exclusive resort covering the entire island, the The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, is located just off the east coast of Phuket and provides an oasis of tranquillity away from the more touristy mainland. However with the speedboat journey just 10 minutes long, and the island only 25 minutes from Phuket airport, this idyllic hotel is easily accessible once you know its there.
Whether you prefer the leafy surroundings of the Tropical Villa or the on-sand location of the Beachfront Villa, you’ll feel like a royal in the huge, tastefully decorated rooms. While each of the four styles of villa has its own distinct style, a common feature is the King size bed with crisp white linen sheets. Look out also for the bathrooms, which bring the outside in with their huge windows and beamed wooden roofs – a long bath will never be so tranquil.
If you’re bringing the kids along, make sure to opt for the Royal Horizon Villa, whose extra bedroom and even bigger private pool will keep everyone happy and still with plenty of space.
With two restaurant options, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dining on The Naka Island. If you’re looking for traditional Thai or international, go for the Tonsai Restaurant, and if steak and seafood is more your thing, My Grill Restaurant will serve up the perfect meal.
Tonsai, the main restaurant, is a naturally evolving all day venue set on three floors, it’s open for a relaxed breakfast right through to an intimate dinner experience. Contrastingly, My Grill is an open-air beachside affair, complete with natural wood décor and views across the sea to Phuket. Sip a glass of fine wine and savour every mouthful of your Surf and Turf in the most beautifully romantic location.
As one of its most unique selling points, Spa Naka is a must-visit for any stay on The Naka Island. Boasting four treatment rooms, each with stunning backdrops and a totally serene atmosphere, you will feel all your stresses float away as soon as you enter this heavenly sanctuary.
Try the signature Watsu treatment, a 60-minute-aquatic therapy with combination of shiatsu pressure points, gentle stretches and an absence of gravity. Or for a more relaxing treatment, opt for the Tranquillity Aromatic Ritual, a deeply hydrating anti-stress face and body treatment which relieves tension, whilst smoothing and toning skin.
From paddle boarding to yoga and face painting to cookery classes, as well as a large communal swimming pool, The Naka Island has a wide variety of exciting complimentary activities on offer. So whether you like to keep yourself active on holiday, or simply want to find the ultimate relaxation technique, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Speak to the concierge for a full timetable of activities.
