You'll begin with a hike to Moray; with its many circular terraces, its purpose has eluded experts, though it is thought that it was used for specific farming purposes. A trip to Moray is incomplete without making the most of your proximity to the salt flats of Maras, situated in the high plains above Urubamba, and still used today in the same way as the Incas.

Afterwards, you'll visit Ollantaytambo, a former fortress and temple of the Incas that served as one of the civilisation's final strongholds after the Spanish invasion nearly 500 years ago. The fortress was built into the side of the mountain and rises to the very peak of the surrounding ruins, while the temple lies at the very top of the terracing.
