Day 1-2
Fly from UK to La Paz

Upon arrival in La Paz, you'll be met by your private driver and transferred to the first accommodation on your itinerary.

Day 2-3
1 night at Casa Grande Hotel

Situated within the upscale Zona Sur neighbourhood in La Paz, Casa Grande Hotel boasts contemporary and stylish interiors, its atrium comprised of a striking curved glass roof. The hotel features a selection of modern rooms, a swimming pool, a restaurant and bar, and a wellness centre.

Day 2
La Paz

Embark on a full day tour of La Paz, taking you through the city's indigenous, colonial, and contemporary areas, all of which sit in the shadow of the imposing Mount Illimani.

Visit the fruit and vegetable markets to see Bolivia's bountiful produce, before wandering through the Witches' Market to explore the exotic and unusual items for sale here. The city's streets are a labyrinth of contrasting ideas; cobblestoned streets lead to magnificent colonial cathedrals that sit beneath shimmering modern hotels and office blocks, while dilapidated barrios emerge into chic, vibrant districts with hip coffee bars and pristine plazas.

Day 3
Copacabana, Isla del Luna & Isla del Sol

Today you'll board a shared overland transfer from La Paz to Copacabana, a charming village and harbour on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Here, you'll be shown to the Basilica and shrine of the Dark Virgin as well as a small but colourful local market.

Board a hydrofoil ship for a cruise to the islands that lie offshore, where time seems never to have passed. Isla del Luna is home to Inak Uyu - the Sun Virgin's Temple. Women played a fundamental role within Inca civilisation, developing agriculture, religion and textiles.

Hop from Isla del Luna to Isla del Sol, an unspoiled, bucolic corner of the region. Before arriving at your accommodation, visit the stone structure of Pilcocaina Palace. Various elements of this ancient building showcase Andean beliefs and principles; the triple beam of the main door symbolises 'Ama llulla', 'Ama Sua' and 'Ama Kella', translating to 'Don't be lazy, don't be a liar, and don't be a thief', as well as the divided spaces of heaven and the devilish world below. The door faces the white peak of Illampu, which was regarded by the Incas as a protective ancestor.

Day 3-4
1 night at Posada del Inca Eco-Lodge

Situated in a traditional stone house with beautiful views across Lake Titicaca, Posada del Inca Eco-Lodge offers an immersive stay on Isla del Sol, its interiors featuring indigenous artwork and wicker furniture. With only 20 rooms, a stay at the lodge offers the utmost tranquillity. Spend your time here relaxing in the lodge's garden, enjoying traditional Bolivian cuisine at the restaurant, and exploring the ancient Incan sites on the island.

Day 4
Andean Roots Eco Village

Enjoy a guided tour of Andean Roots Eco Village, which consists of The Altiplano Museum, a display of Bolivian history, and traditional mud igloos and mortuary towers used by the indigenous communities.

There are also replicas of the tortora (reed) boats used by explorer Thor Heyerdahl during his expeditions across the Pacific and Atlantic oceans; the real vessels were built just along the coast. The local Limachi brothers who built the replicas served as crew members during these epic voyages, and will share tales of their adventures. You'll also be able to greet the numerous vicuñas, llamas & alpacas that are housed here.

Day 4
Road transfer from Huatajata to La Paz

After an afternoon spent exploring the Eco Village, hop on another shared transfer back to La Paz. With your route running parallel to the snow-capped peaks of the Andes, you'll be treated to some fantastic views. Upon arrival in the city, you'll enjoy another night at Casa Grande Hotel.

Day 5
Fly from La Paz to Uyuni

You'll enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before heading to the airport for a flight to Uyuni. Your private driver will meet you at Uyuni Airport and will immediately escort you to the ethereal Uyuni Salt Lake.

Day 5
Uyuni Salt Lake

Welcome to Salar de Uyuni, or the Uyuni Salt Lake - the largest salt flats on the planet. Situated on Bolivia's high plateau, the flats span an incredible 10,000 square kilometres and play host to a handful of unique attractions. You'll visit the open-air Train Cemetery before continuing on to learn about salt processing methods in Colchani and stopping off at the Salt Museum.

Your tour will take you to Cold Water Springs, locally referred to as the 'Ojos de Agua', where the main highlight is the sight of the expansive salt lake itself. Afterwards, stop at Incahuasi Island and discover an awesome oasis of algae and fossil formations; wander through hundreds of thousands of giant cacti as they soar around you, some reaching more than 12 metres tall. Stay in the area to experience an incredible sunset before returning to your accommodation.

Day 5-7
2 nights at Hotel De Sal Luna Salada

With spectacular views over Salar de Uyuni, Hotel De Sal Luna Salada is uniquely built with salt blocks from the flats themselves, its interior designed to celebrate Andean culture. The hotel boasts a selection of comfortable rooms, a restaurant serving traditional Andean cuisine, and a spa offering massages and reflexology treatments.

Day 6

Today, you'll drive over Uyuni's famous salt lake until arriving at Coquesa, a small village located at the foot of Thunupa Volcano: the guardian of the lake. Coquesa's chessboard-like slopes are often adorned with shepherds, who carefully lead their llamas over the stone corrals and plant quinoa in the fertile volcanic soil.

The further you walk, the closer you'll be to the crater that lies here, where you'll set eyes on a fantastic array of colours that are created by layers of ancient sediment - a striking contrast beneath a blue sky. This is also the best place for infinite views of the flats themselves. Explore the village before hiking up to the cave of the Coquesa Mummies. These well-preserved relics are more than 3,000 years old, and are kept in good condition by the cool, dry climate of Bolivia's highlands.

Day 7
Fly from Uyuni to Rurrenabaque

After spending two nights by the salt flats, your driver will arrive to pick you up and return you to the airport for your flight to Rurrenabaque, the gateway to Bolivia's northern rainforests.

Day 7
Boat from Rurrenabaque to Madidi National Park

On arrival in Rurrenabaque, take a three-hour boat trip to Madidi National Park during which you'll enjoy fantastic views of the Beni and Tuichi rivers as well as Bala Canyon. Once in the national park, you'll continue to your wilderness accommodation. Enjoy a visit to the authentic Villa Alcira community en route, where you can learn more about the indigenous way of life and experience sugarcane pressing first hand. Once arriving at your lodge, you'll start your stay with a walk along the Dry Creek Trail.

Day 7
The Dry Creek Trail

Madidi’s dense jungle environment is a thriving habitat for an array of incredible creatures. The ‘Dry Creek Trail’ will introduce you to the flora and fauna that call the area home. Spot a variety of exotic plant and tree life and learn about the way that the locals use this for everything from building and craft materials to natural medicines.

Keep an eye out for some of the jungle’s most intriguing residents; spot monkeys and an assortment of birdlife in the branches overhead and meet pig-like peccaries and a seemingly endless kingdom of insects on the forest floor.

Day 7-9
2 nights at Mashaquipe Ecolodge

Set within the vast Amazon jungle in Bolivia's Madidi National Park, Mashaquipe Ecolodge offers rustic accommodation in a secluded setting, its design influenced by traditional Amazonian settlements. With accommodation only for 24 people, the lodge is exclusive and intimate, serving a selection of local and international dishes in its dining area, offering shaded hammocks to relax in, and daily excursions into the national park.

Day 8
Madidi National Park

Home to a record-breaking amount of both plant and animal species, Madidi National Park boasts an enviable location on the upper basin of the Amazon River. Spend the first three hours of your day walking to the Caquiahuara Macaw Cliff and treat yourselves to views of colourful parabas birds in their nests. This is also a great spot for noticing the vast array of tree species from the perspective of those who live high up in the jungle's canopy.

Once you've enjoyed the vista from the top of the cliff, you'll be free to enjoy a leisurely walk back down to the Tuichi River. Here, you'll enjoy a raft building experience with a twist: once you've constructed your traditional 'callapo' raft, you'll hop on board for a thrilling ride back down the river to Mashaquipe.

Day 9
Boat from Mashaquipe Ecolodge to Las Tortugas Ecolodge

You'll embark on a one-and-a-half hour boat trip back to Rurrenabaque before beginning a car trip to Santa Rosa. There's a high chance of you spotting sloths, anteaters and other native animals en route. On arrival, hop on to another boat for a short, 15-minute trip to your second ecolodge.

Day 9-10
1 night at Las Tortugas Ecolodge

Ideally situated on the banks of the Yacuma River, Las Tortugas Ecolodge is a rustic property influenced by its natural surroundings, from indigenous-style cabins to traditional dishes served in its dining room. After immersive boat tours on the river, you can lounge in the lodge's dedicated rest area with hammocks or unwind on the private deck of your cabin.

Day 9
Yacuma River

Eventually feeding into the famed Amazon, the Yacuma River begins just outside of Rurrenabaque and plays host to an assortment of native animals. You'll travel along the waters during both day and night excursions and gain an up close and personal insight to the creatures that live here.

The river teems with fish (including piranhas) which you can spot beneath the surface in daylight hours. The banks are likely to be populated by capybara and turtles, whilst a variety of birds can be spotted as they dart to and fro amongst the branches and greenery. Your night time tour will have you equipped with torches as you stay on the lookout for the daytime creatures before they retreat to sleep - you may even catch the glowing eyes of caiman on the prowl.

Day 10
Fly from Rurrenabaque to La Paz

Savour a final breakfast, boat trip and lunch at your ecolodge before your driver arrives to escort you on a three-hour drive back to Rurrenabaque for your last domestic flight. On arrival in La Paz, you'll be escorted by private driver back to Casa Grande Hotel where you will spend one final night.

Day 11-12
Fly from La Paz to UK

You'll be taken to the airport by private car transfer where you will begin your journey back to the UK.
